Fifty-five. April 14, 1918. Dearest,- What a Sunday! From nine this morning until ten tonight I've been on duty. I wanted to get away for another walk. Sunday is the one day when all the population ventures into the open air, and it is consequently the best time to see the population. But things were buzzing all afternoon. There had been another German raid on a new spot in our lines and two of our aviators had got their first victims, and the reports were coming in. Mother's second letter to me has just come.
