so, for knowing what love is with you in my arms I should be unbearably desolate if your letters did not carry such a wealth of love to me. You've not altogether the same lover in your letters - and I suppose I am even less the same lover in mine - but this letter-writing sweetheart is none the less queen of my heart. Which proves to me again how completely you appeal to me. I've had illusions dispelled by letters. This is no illusion. But, of course, I knew you first as a letter-writer, and admired you for your cleverness at it before I loved you and before I knew the marvel of love in your letters. You don't tire of my telling you frankly what a hold you have on me? I suppose it's unnecessary but I'm so impressed I have to tell you. Lovingly, Conger.
