Fifty-nine. April 21, 1918. Dear Mrs. Producer, Foist vall, I thank you for the program. It tells me consid'ble about "The Sammy Backers" at the same time that it furnishes the starting points for new imaginings. I'd give three Boche helmets and a 77 m.m dud to see the whole show, and I'd give at least half that to see the book and score. Sometime next summer, when you're not too busy, won't you send me at least the verses of the songs? My curiosity is p'tic'ly excited by the titles "I want to Join the Sammy Backers," " When Handsome Billy Has to Make His Iron Cross of Tin," "I've Changed My Mind - I Want To Be Left Behind," and "Mothers."
