To Mary Goodenough mother-in law April 25, 1918. Dear Mother,- See, your son is more dignified this time. Perhaps it is because he is older - he is four months today. I am writing tonight in answer to your letter of just a month ago and one of a few days earlier. Although I have had both for several days I haven't got round to answering them chiefly because I have been spending so much time writing to my wife, and I depend on her to share with you the constant chatter I fire at her.
