Sixty-five April 27, 1918. Dear old Girl,- I am all worn out tonight from enjoying the unusual beauty of a full day of spring sunshine. A little mission took me to the front; so I had a ninety mile drive through the hills and valleys all green and white in their early season clothing. In the many villages through which we rushed the old women were sitting in their doorways at their fancy work when they were not ploughing in the fields or rubbing the week's washing on a board beside a stream.
