Mon, Jul 14 1942 Dearest, We got here yesterday got on the train Fri nite at J. B. it was a pulman train had all our meals on the train sure was a long ride I think I will have to stay in the infantry this camp teaches heavy weapons for combat, I have a rifle but they don't seem to pay much attention to it, they use heavier stuff, we march & drill, the chow is good and our barracks are new, we will be here 13 weeks. I sort of like it at that something new
