Sat 4:00PM Aug 23 1942 Dearest. We had quite a day today we marched over to the parade grounds about 3 miles. Where the field meet was they had a lot of events our batalion won there were four batalions competing after the meet we marched back got here about 12:30 eat dinner then had the rest of the day off I took a shower washed some clothes took a nap & done a lot of talking with the boys
