Navy Construction Training Center Naval Operating Base Norfolk, VA. Co. B, Plt. 5, Batt. 26 Camp Allen, Norfolk, Va. September 17, 1942 Dear Frances, Thought I might write you a line this evening. Maybe you will get it Monday, seems to take three days. Air mail doesn't always help much. Got your letter in three days. We move to a camp some thirty miles away tomorrow. Don't know the address. But they say mail will be forwarded from here. Notice that I'm in platoon 5 now. They changed us all around, so we are now permanently assigned to companies and platoons. The battalion remains together. We met our new chiefs - we are under Chief
