3 I worked a good part of the day on the lawn, and on the trimming of the borders. Washed the porch, listened to the special radio items. Washed some clothes and arranged some things in storage. I was too excited inside myself to do much eating, so I made short work of the cooking. I wish you were where I could talk over today's thoughts. I can't discuss such things with anyone else. In some number of weeks I'll be able to listen to you and also your ideas on my thoughts. The lack of that opportunity of companionship has been one of the big losses that war has caused you and me. But companionship in thought and spirit while we were in separate places prevailed any way. Tonight I served angel food cake and [Sanka?] coffee to our guests. Because
