Saving...
817 - 19th St. SE Cedar Rapids, Iowa January 8, 1942 Dearest, Friday night and six o'clock. I want to put this in the corner box so I must get it done soon to be collected. As I suspected, today was one long rush. But as I didn't suspect, I have to work tonight on a social history. I brought home four records to get it made, so I have enough to keep me occupied this evening. This is a rush job as the doctor wants it tomorrow. Wish you were here to discuss it with me. No letter today either. The last one, on Wed, was what you wrote in Washington. Now I'm sure I'll have mail when I get home sometime in the afternoon tomorrow. That will be good to last over Sunday. I don't know any news. I worked last evening down at the office until 10:20 so I didn't visit in the evening either to get any talking done with our kith or kin. A lovely day today. Nicest winter day you could ask for. I got up in time to sweep the "frost" that fell last night from our walks and both Hargers and Lunds. They did my shoveling so I thought I could at least try to sweep theirs. It was really light snow in the night.
