Saving...
817 - 19th St. S. E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa Feburary 6, 1943 Dearest, It is Sunday. This morning I woke up after nine o'clock. It seemed like I had been dreaming of you and you were right here. It was so pleasant and not at all disappointing as I knew all the time it was a dream. Some day it will not be a dream any more. You will be with me and things will be like they used to be, only better even than it was before. My grammar got mixed up in the last sentence, but the idea isn't mixed at all! Today I went to First Pres. It was a helpful service. I got a little perspective so my ideas, my problems, my wishes fit better into the whole of things. I can't say it well in words. Remembering you in the meditations seems to be special too. Had dinner at the Harmony, bought valentines for colet and Freda's boy Ralph at Keibels. Also bought the new Good Housekeeping there too. I've read an article in it entitled "If I Were Being Married Tomorrow" by Emily Ward Dixon. She doesn't say a thing that is new to us. But I'll quote this from her article "and whatever I might wish could be different about it, there is one thing I never would change - the man. (She has a grown family now). I can feel only humble when I think of the inadequacy and immaturity my husband put up with and realize how often his love, confidence, and sense of humor brought us through. If tomorrow were my wedding day, I would determine never to fail to give full credit to the man I loved." My husband has even more than these good qualities.
