I suppose your welfare problems are as numerous as ever. In this heat - I don't envy your heavy schedule. It's finally turned hot here, at least for a few days. Has your gas rationing been lowered? Here, no non-essential driving is allowed and B,C and T cards have depreciated in value. And buses are unendurably crowded. It's a good time to raise a family. I don't know - I think couples should have children, even with the draft facing them. The war may last several years yet; parents should be young, I believe; and, it will be more difficult to start a family afterward, because of the inevitable depression. I feel that the future depends upon the women accepting, today, such a responsibility. Perhaps I'm wrong; perhaps I am looking at only one side of the question. But I think a woman who could support herself, or who had parent who could easily help for a few years, could want children even more now. Enough oratory for now. Write soon, huh? Love, Bessie
