817-19 St. SE Cedar Rapids, Iowa January 18, 1943 Dearest, A big snow laddie and it is still coming down. It was 5˚ Sun. morn and 5˚ this morn too as the low reading. It was a light dry snow with some wind; and it has snowed most of today even though the temperature remained about zero all day. So you see we have good use for overcoats here. The furnace has done well, it was 72˚ when I got home tonight. Now that the humidified is going again that is a pretty comfortable temperature when the air is real dry it seems to take a higher temperature to be comfortable. We went to Steeles, like I told you in yesterdays letter, last night A quiet visit and home again by 9:40 after having taken the Mc Ilvains home. They had a big fireplace fire
