3 Earl wants to move an acreage big enough to have chickens. They haven't any prospect of a place as such locations are at a premium now. Hazel would quit working then. But she can't drive and would be pretty confined to any place very far out. She is afraid Earl would have too much work on hand if they moved to an acreage while he is expected to do so many hours of overtime at the factory. She has curtains and all the details worked out for their apartment. That was a lot of work if she has to move this spring. I don't think he'll be able to get a place this late. Hazel won't object or feel bad if he does. Steeles asked me again last night if Rose and George had moved yet to the farm. I talked to Rose - called her yesterday afternoon. She said George hadn't worked for a week at Martin's. He has gone to some farm sales. Freddie mentioned he'd been in the noon shop card games several times lately. What I started to say was Rose said he had started farming bt she had not. I hope we never do stuff that way. Whatever we have to decide, when we do get it decided we want to be together on it even if we hadn't seen it the same way in the beginning. Is that not so? I would think Rose might act differently too if that farming business is all that keeps him out of the army. His staying a civilian might be a big enough reason for her to help all the way. I'm glad that is there business and not ours. Rose and I had a real pleasant talk yesterday. She never calls me and after when I call there someone else talks to me. So we don't talk so often.
