2 parked in front and worked until I was right against the curb. No one hit Polly there; so all was well. Uncle Lew was at Jack's for supper that night. He started home but got only a block or so because of the fog, so he went back and stayed all night. One case I met was lost, and he sounded so happy when I told him the street and avenue he was on. He hailed me as "Brother" and I'll bet he was surprised when a feminine voice answered! Yesterday afternoon I took Alberta to South Side and we shopped for groceries and miscellaneous things. I got some heavy storm rubbers made of pre war restriction rubber. They aren't pretty but they'll last better than any I have. My war made overshoes already have all the tread off them. Rubbers of some kind
