817-19 St. S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa March 4, 1943 Dearest, The old clock is pushing bed time. I had Esther Flitoch & Evelyn Gibson over for supper and I just took them home a while ago. We all coked and we really had a square meal. We ate like threshers. Mashed potatoes and gravy, pork chops, lots of buttered carrots, grapefruit salad & coffee. Then we visited, watched the fireplace, and finally did dishes. The we had coffee, applesauce & cookies before we called it an evening. Quite a hen session and not a mean one either. Red fixed Polly today, brakes, fluid, grease, oil, and wash job, Things seem in fine shape now. Mrs Prersall is there every afternoon now. She is good to me.
