817-19 St. S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa March 8, 1943 Dearest, The nice thing about this time of day is that I can write to my laddie. No one can tell me to hurry or ask me to stop and do anything. I just sit here with my feet above the register and I can think about you and write as leisurely as I like. Mrs. Hunt and I sat in the office and talked until 6:20 about a lot of things, not much about work. Then we went to Marion and ate a good supper. It started to snow and blow while we were there like a real blizzard. And so we came back to town directly and it was so furious I could scarcely see. And bless you if it wasn't all over by the time I got to her house! So I drove to our garage in complete ease. I was home
