Dearest,
Just was over to the Judges and got the tax reports for both state & federal done. I'm so pleased and relieved to have them done. And really delighted because they are small - $96 federal and less than $2 for state. Our federal taxes were more last year because we had to pay as single persons. We each had only half year salaries and the soldiers pay is exempt for $300 - and you didn't draw more than that. So our circumstances were such it was the cheapest we could hope for by the skin of our teeth. Another months salary for either of us would have been another bracket higher in the income schedule. Imagine anyone finding a bright spot in taxes! But I am glad to pay taxes if that will get the war done. And we can't war without paying for it.
