Print the complete address in plain block letters in the panel below, and your return address in the space provided. Use typewriter, dark ink, or pencil. Write plainly. Very small writing is not suitable. No. 4 (Censor's Stamp) Pvt. Lloyd David, 37420240 Co F Inf. APO 759 Postmaster, New York New York Mrs Lloyd Davis (Sender's name) 817-19 St. S.E. (Sender's address) 3-21-43 (Date) Dearest, The first day of Spring. A bright sun melts the snow. Joanie and I went to Cong. Church. The sermon was good. Of course I remembered you in prayers. After we had lunch we went to Woodsides to hear Churchills speech because our radio is being repaired. It was a most interesting speech. Then Andy & Joanie and I had a very light supper at our home. The gov't announced freezing of some dairy foods today. The ration program is getting in earnest now and that is right. we have enough for all to eat so a few shouldn't be cabbaging it all. I make out fine on the points. Joanie went back on an early interurban and Andy and I visited a little while at Hazels. Myrtle was there. Then we visited a long time again at home. Space is too small to go into things good. She says I can work in an interesting job in St. Paul. I feel you would rather I stay in C.R. as long as I can be doing social work. So I'll try to get the new counselor job if they will hire me. Otherwise I'll be in this job as long as it lasts. I'll try to keep you informed and I'm not uneasy or restless. If it is a satisfaction for you to know I'm in our home I want to be there as long as I have a social work job chance here. To my husband, Love, Laura V...-MAIL POST OFFICE DEPARTMENT PERMIT NO. 10
