Print the complete address in plain block letters in the panel below, and your return address in the space provided. Use typewriter, dark ink, or pencil. Write plainly. Very small writing is not suitable. No. 9 (CENSOR'S STAMP) Pvt. Lloyd Davis, 37420240 Co. F. Inf. - APO 759 Postmaster, New York New York Mrs. Lloyd Davis (Sender's name) 817 19th St. SE (Sender's Address) Cedar Rapids, Iowa March 26, 1943 (Date) Dearest, The paper say 2000 sacks of foreign mail sent from U.S in February were lost - includes Africa mail. So maybe you never will get even half of my 55 or so letters I sent to mead to the forwarded. I have sent one every day by V mail too since March 18 when I got your new address. Everyday I try to send on letter to you (and once in a while more). Busy at the office today. No plans on for this evening except to fix up our home a little. About time I spent an evening here, as I've been out a lot this week. It must be the beautiful spring weather that lures me out! Flora, my stenographer, fixed up the typing on some V-mail paper for my letters to you. Then she made two for Maurice for I don't write to him so very often. George told me he would write to you "twice a week or so" and Mrs Rula said innocently last night he had v-paper but she didn't think he'd written yet! I had a decent visit there last night but they are as pokey as usual. Had a good live luncheon meeting at Y M of Council of Social Agencies today. Aunt Lena had lots to say and was pretty much right; and every one put in a say so! One legal residence case of mine took an hour's time of Persine's; they are fun when one can learn new things. In my place laddie and good it is too because of you. I'm happy and glad we are together. Tell me how I can best help you now. To the best husband, Love, Laura V...-MAIL POST OFFICE DEPARTMENT PERMIT NO. 1
