Inf. - APO 759 Postmaster, New York New York Mrs. Lloyd Davis (Sender's name) 817 19th St. SE (Sender's address) Cedar Rapids, Iowa March 30, 1943 (Date) Dearest, A summer day of out of season - 82° this afternoon was in Center Point for office hours. Not much business there. Didn't see any of your fellow workmen today up there. Found an old guarantee on the roofing so called up the Wis. Lumber to see if they'd fulfill the guarantee. The said yes, so came to look at it to-night. Leone & Jack were there first and Jack told me where all the spots seemed to be. We were all three on the roof! Then the roofer and I were there later! They may try to fix it tomorrow. Then we will wait for rain to see what kind of a job it is. If he can't fix it free, then I'll hire Haeggs to do it. I'm learning lots of things and it is fun. But I'll be glad to leave any independence like that and have you take over again on all such projects! Ardy leaves tonight for school again at Minnesota. Talked with her on the phone. She was in to see the boss a few minutes this afternoon. Hazel thinks she will quite work May 1. They have not found an acreage yet, so maybe they won't be able to move this year. I don't think Hazel will feel bad to stay for this year because she did a lot of work to get the apartment into nice shape. It would be a shame not to get more good out of it. I love my laddie. I am in the place you fixed every night. If you are rationed on time or the number of letters so they have to be so few, I'm selfish enough to be glad I'll get all you are able to send. Love Laura V...-MAIL POST OFFICE DEPARTMENT PERMIT NO. 1
