Saving...
817-19 St. S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa July 18, 1942 Dearest, Did I tell you that when I first started writing to my soldier I went to the post office and purchased a dollar's worth of stamps? I had seen at the office the Victory Stamp with the old eagle shaping up a V and the slogan "win the war," and so decided that was the kind that should be put on your letters. Since that purchase you have had that kind. Of course the Special Delivery stamps were in addition and have no new design. In last night's letter I had meant to put in two Donald Ducks but forgot to enclose them. So you may get them with this letter unless I have another attack of absent-mindedness or hurryitis.
