Saving...
817-19 St. S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa July 24, 1942 Dearest, Today I Red-Crossed a little. Also went to the hospital to see Irene. She is getting along pretty well. The doctor thinks maybe she can try to sit up tomorrow. The stitches were taken out some time ago. She isn't well by any means but is improved. She still has a fever. Mother went fishing with Fishers. She was gone six hours. I thought it was a little long, but she said she didn't feel as tired as the first time I took her for a couple hours. In fact, we have had ice cream (it is 8 o'clock now) and she is reading the paper.
