for such a good reason? If you got week-end leave but not otherwise, could you be visited in club rooms, inside the camp on evenings? Maybe either of us going would be most unwise. Maybe I should come alone. Maybe something different than anything i've suggested is better. The reality of you being gone is sure tough here. But whatever we should do we will. We hope reality can include seeing you, but if not, we'll manage together here until you can come. I hope this letter doesn't make you feel bad because of course I could keep still and just sit here. But we have been wondering, and the best way seems to be to write it all out. Mother
