817-19 St. S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa July 24, 1942 Dearest, Although it is almost eight, I haven't done the dishes -- and what is more, I may continue to ignore them until morning. The reason I'm so pokey is not that we ate late, but I got into too many neighborhood discussions. I went to Radloff's and paid for the garage. I'd been there twice before without any luck. I visited a minute with them and then the [soapman?] and I started to talk. Then his daughter and wife helped out. Heap big talk takes heap big lot of time! He said to tell you that the Johnstons sent their best regards to you. We got Mrs [Chevry?] cussed for building
