Mother talked about you today and was glad you had come and seemed to accept the inevitableness of your leaving. I'm glad you told her our plain talk to each other expressed better our love. If we can continued to build and grow together as we have in our contacts so far, we will be indeed happy and useful. Do you remember early in our friendship when you asked me if I were happy? As I viewed things then, I would not have seen how we could be happy at all in such a mess of problems as we find ourselves now; but our experiences together would enable me now to say I am happy. You can scarcely imagine how much I value the things of affection you said to me during this short stay. All for now, Laddie. Goodnight dear. Love Laura
