4 leaving so soon and she hasn't any reserve worker lined up. She won't hold my quiting, even without notice, against my work record. I guess they all know (assume maybe) we wish we could be together and that I would have good chances to get along in most any town if you get assigned in U.S. after your basic training. "They" even think I could get social work job in defense or military area. I did not want George to feel I was considering something that might make me neglect Mother or put more burden on him. So I called him before giving Mrs Hunt my answer. He was all for it and thought I'd be better off with something on my mind
