April 21, 1944 Dearest, This is a funny sort of letter. I saved these maps from the Hut. The church bulletin will give you an idea of some of the things I thought about on Easter Sunday. I've meant to send these things before as I'd saved them for that purpose. So because I didn't have so much to write about tonight, I thought this would be a good time for me to send them. I guess I'll tell you about my two shingles. You've heard of shingles as an illness. It is a skin eruption near the end of nerves in the skin surface. I have only two, under my right arm. I've had them three weeks or so, and didn't know what they were. I finally decided it was a fungus and so went to Dr. Erskine. He was gone but Dr. Prouty, his partner, looked at it.
