Saving...
2 fun and company, she and Bill had a good time but as a matrimonial prospect she knew he was hopelessly disinterested. I would surely be mad if he hurt her feelings but she is good at sizing up people. Constant company with lots of affection that isn't really meant for keeps is not much good usually. He might be like Dock though and that would be all right too. Bill is a lot like Dock but a bigger guy in good health and smarter and more widely experienced. Bess said Mildred Cecil's girl (so your niece!) was in the hospital since an emergency appendix operation a week ago. She is doing OK is the report. This afternoon I took Bess and Bill out in College Twp and turned Bill into a corn field (on the farm) to measure the height for himself. He did not believe the height of the corn until then. Bess thought showing him would be the most convincing way. He picked a big ear to take back but forgot it on the kitchen table. The red car is gone now. Bess will appreciate it and Bill told her she was getting a swell car for $700. Bill has a De Soto so the red car is below his own scale but he drove it away decently.
