3 Last night I got a letter off to Maurice. He won't have much mail so it is all the more important that I write. And he'll soon be out of the country so he won't get any for long spells. The papers says tonight I'm to get $110 Beeson told Mrs H. the resolution reinstated me and I'd soon get my next step plus the general increase of 5% - by vote of 2 to 1 - after they all promised her I'd get 120. If he told truth I'll get more $120 but I don't believe anything 'til I have it in hand. And all this see saving is unnecessary and unfair and not what they told her individually. The great guy politics! Did you hear of the new order for 11/15 to ration truck & bus service and to allow no gas or oil until certificates showing they contributed to the war effort were obtained.
