47 817 - 19 St. S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa September 12, 1942 Dearest, The old clock is rolling right along again just as if it were not Saturday evening! Worked til noon today, of course. This after noon the Bendix man came and it was just a matter of cleaning out the valve hicky (and $1.50 from me). I went to a foot man to have my corns and callouses whacked off. Had that done about 10 years ago and it was worth much more than the cost ($2). I now have my Krall shoes on in comfort. This morn my feet hurt so I had to go home and get a pair of elastic cloth shoes even if the heels were not as sensible and the soles too thin for a cement floor. So once more I had to temporarily abandon health shoes again! But my new plow shoes feel fine now. This noon Fred wasn't at the shop and Irish took me down town. While I was waiting I talked with Morgan. His wife misses the boy so much and he seemed to feel pretty bad too. The boy's wife was out at Cheyenne for a month, had an OK job and could see him but she decided
