Saving...
It was nice of them to invite me. They have been so good to me. And it is like we all had a good time and no "duty" slant in it at all. I'll finish this before I go home so I can mail it on the way instead of taking the car out again. I have to be more efficient in getting about now that I can't sleep late in the mornings. This noon Leone and I looked for something that was in an elephant theme. She got a cute card and I got a little elephant paper weight for Jack. We call this one the uncle to those on the boat house. Such silly business, eh. Sue wrote a nice letter. You need not have thought she might not like it for me to tell her to come some other week-end. She said the folks were about as usual. It is surprising they can manage so well. She doesn't know I'm working and wondered if I'd be visiting at home, but not to do any big jobs of work as things are pretty well caught up. They must be taking Maurice's absence pretty well. It is good if they can do that. And they are pretty patriotic so it helps them.
