I'm sure they will be better. I'm not saying this to mean things have been so bad, but when they were tough for me at times I despaired I'd ever be as brave as I wanted to be or as I knew you thought I was. You knew it from what I felt I had to say when you were here and from some of the miserable letters I've written. The caring for you so much and then circumstances denying our being together made the tough feeling, but the knowing better your love is now the source of strength to wait and be "tougher." Love and self pity are never partners, and old felt pity cast his ugly shadow into my feelings for a little while. Oh honey what do you think of the wife you have? The dishes were delivered today.
