817-19 St. S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa September 17, 1942 Dearest, When you said in todays letter that the war "can't stop feeling no matter what comes" you said just what I think too. You can always make a few words say so much. I always have to have so much writing to get the idea down. It is a beautiful fall day today. I'm wearing my red striped wash dress and it is very comfortable even though it is the coolest dress I had this year. It will more than suit me that if this kind of weather continues for six weeks and then have fall weather a while before winter! The leaves are falling
