Saving...
817-19 St. S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa September 22, 1942 Dearest, Ardy and I just got back from Iowa City where we had supper with Kathryn. It was a very pleasant evening. Kathryn won't be seeing Ardy again before Ardy goes to Minnesota U. It is raining again, as it did last night. I believe all the faucets in the sky have been turned on all season. I'm writing this at Ardy's so I can mail it without going home and then making another trip back down town. It is 10:50 now so you see time is flying. I'm enclosing the blanks for the truck storage sign them where she put the X and instead of a notary get one of the officers to witness them, the girl said. Then return at once and she will complete the other blanks and I am supposed to have your signatures, the license plates, and a statement of the draft board as to when you left all in her hands by Sept 30. We'll have enough time if you can mail it back by Sat. (or later if necessary as she said maybe the time would be extended).
