at this rate I won't need any full time help tomorrow. If I find I should, Effie will come. The wind has gone down now so it is easy to heat the house. It is cloudy and rainy again today. Mother wrote me today that the ground froze at F.D. Effie lugged all the potted plants into the garage -- I had covered them the night before. Then last night she covered some of the transplanted plants. Had a letter from Betty all apologies over the Sunday deal. Of course wasn't able to make my speech today at Council of Social Agencies. Gave the stuff back yesterday for some one else to prepare it as I knew then I'd never be out. The paper isn't here yet so don't know who did the job. I hate to flunk out this way, but as far as making a speech anytime, I'd rather not. Aunt Min is having more struggle with an extraction. She is at Uncle Lou's now. Alberta fell and got a game leg so I guess that is one reason she is visiting him just now. I still expect to leave here on the 2:oclock train of Oct 1. I figure that should get me into Spartanburg on Friday afternoon. Of course my job may be so bawled up when
