Saving...
a shock as he was an outstanding physical specimen. Now Colet has been trained to perform by kissing your picture. And she shakes her head and smiles and says "I don't know" when Grandma Rula asks "Where is Grandma Davis?" Mrs Rula still talks too much about Mother for it to be easy for me to listen to her. Maybe if I talked more instead of just thinking it would be better. But I don't do things that way and Mother certainly wouldn't like us to. Colet is fast getting away from babyhood. She is thinner and taller but still stout enough. She couldn't decide today whether she knew me or not. She wasn't afraid but smiled, laughed and studied me over. Because of their colds and my ex flu I did not want to play and run any chances. If things work out maybe we'll be talking things over in person next Sunday instead of by mail. Whenever we do get to do that, it will be great. Maybe we appreciate less obvious values like that more than some people seem to do because we have always been interrupted by separations ever since our marriage, and even in our friendship before that. To my good husband, goodbye for this letter, laddie. Love Laura [smiley face doodle]
