Saving...
I was surprised how many non-coms I talked to who thought it OK for a private's wife to come and they did not know whether we'd have any money to fall back on if I didn't get a job. They seemed certain soldiers wives got work if they wanted it and while it was more responsibility for the man, it was so good it was worth bearing. Whether you can say right away whether I can come or not, express your ideas as to the Red Cross local offer. After 6 mos here national would place me someplace else so I'd not be unemployed. But it wouldn't be in C.R. and I'd not have much to say about where. Ive checked train to Baltimore and learn I can leave here on C of D one morn and be there the next at a cost of 36.02 per round trip. A lot different than trying to go South.
