817-19 St. S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa October 22, 1942 Dearest, My Laddie Here it is late Thursday evening and I'm writing this at Fishers Drug. After work I made a cake and took it to Elinor Sweitzer's as a surprise and Mrs Hunt, Virginia, Helen & I were all on hand to help eat it. I'm glad at least Honn is still with you. Did I tell you that on Tues eve I called at Caryl's? I think they appreciated it even if I couldn't tell them much. Did George
