Saving...
some ex-Coe fellow as an officer. Lots of the boys in the later lists are just privates too and were not military major students. Today was real cold for October. I didn't build a fire at all this morning and the house was 45 when I got home. Earl came tonight and drained the water pipes. I'll remember now again having watched both you and him and I know I could do it myself now. When Earl did it then I remembered your explanation just as plain as day. I've fired heavy now and it is 72 [degree symbol]. I want a bit bed of coals so I can keep it going good all night. The first time for a week I'm heating my -- our -- bedroom so as to dry out the dampness. It seems a shame to spend all this heat just for my own self, but I can't make any plans for anyone
