spent his nickel on a chocolate cone at McConkies Drug. Then I took them home as we were all tired and sleepy. Since getting back I've read, rested, thought about what I'd try to write to you, and listened to the radio. It isn't lonely here tonight. Another good letter came today and memories are grouped around closely. Whatever your assignment, "we" can do it. You have to do the doing, and I the waiting, so that makes it "we" doesn't it? I felt pretty good about my Red Cross decision until today when the St Louis field person called me up again. She indicated I wouldn't be held here and be unable to go to you if I wanted to.
