817-19 St. S.E Cedar Rapids, Iowa October 30, 1942 Dearest, Your Tuesday letter came today. I guess I won't wait tonight to the end of the letter to tell you how good I feel about you being my husband. I'm glad if I help you to be better and tougher. I want to be your help meet. And you cherish me, and just to remember that makes me feel good all over, inside and out! If I could be there to help you instead of trying to help from this distance things would be a lot easier for you. I'm sure I could help you feel better. I'll keep trying to help you any way I can from this distance, trying to take care of stuff here, write to you, think good things about you, love you all the time, and not forget a little prayer.
