817 19 St S E Cedar Rapids, Iowa Nov. 4, 1942 Dearest, The day after election. Guess maybe I forgot to tell you I did my patriotic duty by voting. Or maybe I did tell you. Being me, I voted a split ticket. So, some I helped win and others I failed to save from losing. State elections here were a Republican landslide. We had temporary plans of Earl and Hazel to come over tonight and I would have a jelly roll made. But Earl didn't sleep well in the day time so he wanted to try it again after supper. Mrs. Perrine had two Community Concert tickets and a sick head ache. So she gave Hazel the tickets and she and I went to the concert. A soprano soloist with
