817-19 St. S.E Cedar Rapids, Iowa December 11, 1942 Dearest, This is the second letter today. The other one was my evening letter of yesterday that I didn't get finished until I was at the office. I feel bad about that letter. I put down the stuff I've thought and felt but I don't aim to do that when I seem all unhappy. It is different to tell you that stuff (than write) because we can both talk and it isn't all one-sided. But it just seemed so big within me that it got down on paper. I wrote meaner stuff last summer before Mother was in bed and I wanted so bad to go to Camp Croft. And you have always said I never wrote stuff ever that made you hate me for the writing. I hope this letter goes to you the same day I'm writing it before supper so I can be sure to get it into the mail box out at our corner. I had to cut off because of office work this morn and so as I remember that letter now about all I said were the hurting memories. It isn't right that I write that way because the hurts are so
