817-19 St. S.E Cedar Rapids, Iowa December 12, 1942 Dearest, Am at the Interurban waiting for Alberta. I took her down town with me after supper. I was down late this afternoon too and provided drayage for Ida Hamptons groceries I bought a lot of provisions too. I want to be prepared to cook some Christmas stuff and to have some luxuries on hand for your next visit too. The ask man finally came this P.M. I had four tubsful by then so it was necessary. The letter I wrote last night finally didn't get into the PO until 5:00 because I left it in my office note book. Then when we went down after groceries I got it from the office. Such a good letter again today honey. I hope the night problems didn't keep you from writing the 10th. Those letters are the best things I have now. You needn't worry that you can't do more for me than that because you can't know how much and how good that is. I did a little shopping tonight. Got a couple books at Sanfords. Looked for a dress for Colet but didn't see the right one. Geo & Rose came in a bit ago. Geo showed me a couple
