817-19 St. S.E. Cedar Rapids, Iowa December 20, 1942 Dearest, Sunday and I didn't write a second letter last night as I told you I would. It was cold ans stormy so Kathryn and Ardy stayed all night, had breakfast and left about eleven o'clock. So instead of being here alone in the quiet and writing to you, I talked and giggled with the girls. We had some serious talk too. Part of that was about having a junior during war time - pros and cons. I've mopped the bathroom and kitchen floors since they left as it was necessary and I was down town too long yesterday to get them done before I had to cook supper. Hazel and Earl are coming soon for a little supper. So I may not get this done today either. We are going to Steeles after supper. I'm glad to get the ride over there as I've used part of my gas on their govt. work so I have to count it out before going a long ways like too Rays. Monday They came about seven we ate and went to Jordans as Hazel had two goldfish for the children. We didn't get in as they all
