have the flu except Jordan. Then we went to Rays. Otis was home and awful restless in his trips to get a little fluid at intervals. Ray had a bad cold. He works 10 hrs a day now. Ray seemed to be in a real good humor. And the fire place gave out enough heat for real comfort. Emily looked as nice and happy as I've ever seen her. Our visit was very good though I was tired. They stopped at our house and ate peach sauce before they went on home. Earl had the day off. They worked all afternoon on the apt. and they really are getting things fixed up. I'll tell you about their apt in more detail some other time. I got Gorham Sterling silver candlesticks for our wedding present to them. They were the single candle, low base type. They are the finest quality stuff and I think they liked the kind and type. The design was very simple. I ope you'll like them and that they do too. And I'm sure you will, and they. It is a gift they wouldn't buy probably, that will last forever, and is conservative and good quality. I thought something like that would express the spirit of your friendship with Earl and our good wishes to their life together for a long and happy time together.
