part of the midnight broadcast from the Waterloo Episcopal church. I dozed off in the rhythm of the chanting and from watching the coals in the fireplace get darker and glow more quietly. It was warm and cozy and the music stately. If we could both have been on the davenport then the picture would have been complete and perfect. I said there was an idea about a candle that I had I'd explain in this letter. You know those big, "squarish" shaped candles that burn many many hours? The cost about 2.50 or so. Well, I want to buy one and burn it the first Christmas you are home. Then we'll burn it for a time each Christmas Eve and each wedding anniversary. One big candle if burned conservatively should last our life together. If we wish we can burn it alone or with company, but at any rate it would be a pleasant, glowing ceremony we could always have. Do you think that is a nice idea?
