I hope I'm not saying things that will make you feel bad and I don't think they will because I'm only saying square things. You know there is nothing I'd rather have than be situated so we could maintain a home together somewhere. But that home has to be founded on honesty, not drag unrelated to ability, if it is to be happy. If I didn't love you so and feel you felt the same way about me I wouldn't dare speak so boldly. But this is, as I recall it, almost the identical idea I wrote several months ago when I thought Ray had decided not to write the Colonel unless you wrote Ray you wanted a transfer to some other branch of the service. Maybe you did ask Ray to do that, and if you did then it was the result of your best thinking and I'll not criticize. But I'd like to know. At any rate I'll never be saying anything to Ray but I can't help trying to get it
