2 young people working out tough problems well together. I don't think you'll get out of the army until after the war is over. But I'm not the least bit downhearted about us getting things worked out one at a time as they come to us. You will return home and no matter what problems we face, we will heat them and still feel it is good to have lived and better yet, good to have lived together. Do you not think so? Leone has asked me over for New Years dinner. Said I could leave early if I had any other plans but would like me to count on dinner there. If I can't be with you I don't know any other better place. I won't have time enough off to go to F.D. I don't know whether we'd like to or not, but maybe a phone call or something special on Jan 1 would be fun. Maybe you couldn't get it done anyway. If you try, before noon would be good. But I'm not sure we'd like to try to talk on the phone anyway. Maybe we'd better save our talk until later in the year. Then the phone lines won't be in such crowded use either as on Jan 1. What we could both do would
